Jeff Kuhrt, Martin Bros. Inside Sales Representative, Named AFDR DSR of the Month

Jeff Kuhrt, an Inside Sales Representative for Martin Bros. Distributing Co., Inc., was named the Association for Foodservice Distributor Representatives (AFDR) DSR of the Month for March 2021.

The AFDR DSR of the Month is awarded to those recognized by customers for providing outstanding service, known by co-workers as team players and selected by the AFDR Nominating Committee after a review of nominations as well as interviews. The AFDR is the only national professional association for food service DSRs, marketing associates and territory managers.

Kuhrt got started in foodservice by working in his parents’ bar and grill. He was fry cooking as a 10-year-old and has been in the service industry ever since. He has worked either sales or food service for the last 50 plus years.

Kuhrt opened up his own two restaurants and a catering business in Iowa in the 1990s and employed a total of 85 people. Martin Bros. was always his distributor partner for all of his locations.

In 2000, Kurht had the opportunity to sell his businesses and join Martin Bros. as a sales trainee. His first sales territory was in eastern Iowa, the Dubuque and Clinton area, and he later transferred to northern Iowa. When an opportunity presented itself for Kuhrt to join the inside sales team offering support to key account managers, he gladly accepted and he continues to serve the team in this role today.

Kuhrt is the first-ever inside representative to win this award.
